Hello,
Welcome to the Faculty of the Built Environment Society (FBESoc) blog/website! We're the official constituent society of the University of New South Wales Faculty of the Built Environment (also know as the BE) and we're affiliated with the UNSW student union, Arc. Our main aim is to establish a faculty wide student community that encourages networking/collaboration and an open forum for discussion/peer learning among students.
This is our community blog where we hope to bring together all the different aspects of the BE student community; including community updates, discussions, events, exhibitions, competitions, student opportunities and industry events. It's a good way to stay up-to date with BE student community happenings.
More about FBESoc
The Faculty of the Built Environment Society started out as the UNSW designer Collective which hoped to establish a single UNSW design student community between COFA & the FBE. However the lack of a student community within the FBE cause those involved in the establishment of the designer Collective to reconsider the original purpose of the society and instead focus on creating a unified design student community within their own Faculty first. The first FBESoc AGM was held on the 26th August 2011 thanks to the support of the Faculty and the society officially become affiliated with Arc on the 14/9/2011.
Since FBESoc is a constituent society all students within the BE faculty (approx. 2539 undergraduate & 631 postgraduate students) are automatically members but are required to sign-up as active members every year. You can sign-up to be an active member at at of our society run events. Learn more about getting involved on the Join In page.
Please feel free to check out our constitution to learn more about our society:
